Lake International School recognizes the importance of parent engagement. Studies have shown that student achievement improves when parents play an active role in their student’s education. To further encourage parent engagement, Lake has redesigned the structure of its parent monthly meeting. The new parent monthly meeting will be divided into five sections:

Administration Announcements |
Principal will share wide school information such as monthly student attendance report, school updates and any important announcements parents should be aware of. |

Student Activity Announcements |
School administrator (member of SLT committee) will update parents on current and upcoming student activities. Topics may include sports and student ambassador updates, spirit week planning etc… as well as other after school activities. |

Committee Summaries |
A parent representative from each school committee (CSC, SIF, and ELA/PAC) will summarize meeting discussions that were talked about in each committee. |

Parent Reflection |
A parent representative from each parent activity that occurred the previous month will give a brief summary of their learning experience. |
|
Parent Involvement Announcements |
The Communications Specialist will inform about family events for the following month as well as fundraising opportunities, upcoming parent workshops, and other related parent involvement information. |
